Its main mechanism is to isolate the leakage channel of the earth dam with the impermeability of plastic film, and to withstand water pressure and adapt to dam deformation with its large tensile strength and elongation; And non-woven fabric is also a polymer short fiber chemical material that is formed by needle punching or hot bonding, with high tensile strength and elongation. When combined with plastic film, it not only increases the tensile strength and puncture resistance of plastic film, but also increases the friction coefficient of the contact surface due to the rough surface of non-woven fabric, which is conducive to the stability of composite geomembrane and protective layer. At the same time, they have good corrosion resistance to bacteria and chemical reactions, and are not afraid of acid, alkali, or salt erosion.
The service life of composite geomembrane is mainly determined by whether the plastic film has lost its anti-seepage and water separation function. According to the national standards of the Soviet Union, polyethylene film with a thickness of 0.2m and a stabilizer used in hydraulic engineering can work for up to 40-50 years under clear water conditions and 30-40 years under sewage conditions. Therefore, the service life of the composite geomembrane is sufficient to meet the anti-seepage requirements of the dam.
